1.    What is Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC)?

The PNC is an autonomous, regulatory body constituted under the Pakistan Nursing Council Act (1952, 1973) and empowered to register (license) Nurses, Midwives, Lady Health Visitors (LHVs) and Nursing Auxiliaries to practice in Pakistan. PNC was established in 1948.


2.    How to Apply for PNC License Registration?

There are two ways to apply for the PNC Licensee.  

Offline Registration

Download the registration from the PNC website Fill the form and attach the necessary documents for registration. Make a Bank Draft in favor of “Pakistan Nursing Council” and sent to the PNC via Courier services/ by Hand.

Online Registration

You can apply for PNC license through PNC online portal. Visit the website Create your login account. Follow the steps 1-6, attach all the relevant required documents. Print the filled application and sent to PNC official address. No need of any documents required except the original bank draft or PNC card in case of renewal.


3.    How many types of PNC Registration?

There are following type of registration:-

1. Regular Registration (for 5 Years)

2. Provisional Registration (for 6 months)

3. Provisional Renewable (For 6 months)

4. Regular Registration Renewable (5 Years)


4.    How to pay fee?

For  Pakistanis
Cash can be deposited through PNC Fee Challan at the National Bank of Pakistan Limited counter (NIH Branch, Islamabad near to PNC office). 

Through Bank Draft/pay order/Cashier's cheque of a recognized bank payable in any bank branch in favor of bank account titled "Pakistan Nursing Council".


Submit the payment to any online HBL branch in account of 24717000017903 in HBL BANK. Branch Code is 2471 and Address of HBL Branch is "HBL Kuri Road, Branch Chak Shahzad Islamabad"

From a Foreign Country
Foreign Nationals and Pakistani Nursing Professional applying from foreign countries should pay equivalent amount in foreign exchange through Bank Draft/Cashier's Cheque of a recognized bank payable in Pakistan in favor of bank account titled "Pakistan Nursing Council;" (without mentioning account number).


5.    What is the fee structure of PNC Registration?        

The fee structure describe the detail of your related registration type you applied for. The fee structure is available at PNC official website


6.    How much time required for PNC Registration?        

Normal Fee

PNC registration apply with normal fee take 2-3 months

     Urgent Fee

     PNC registration apply with urgent fee take atleast 15-20 days


7.    How to Pay fee for Online Registration?

There are two ways:

1. Bank Draft in favor of Pakistan Nursing Council, Islamabad or Bank Challan issued by PNC office

2. Pay the fee in any online HBL branch in account of 24717000017903 in HBL BANK.


8.    What are the documents required for Online Registration?

To apply online you must have a scan copy of following documents (CNIC, Picture, Matric Certificate, Domicile, Intermediate, Profession Nursing Diplomas/ Mark sheet, Bank Draft/ Challan/ Bank Payment Slip.


9.    What are the documents required to send after apply online?

When you have apply online, all documents can now in PNC access. The applicant is online required to sent the online filled application along with the original draft/Challan/Bank Slip.


10.How to trace the application submitted via online/by Hand?

The applicant can now trace their application by visiting the website Click on online services. In a drop down menu click the application status. Now enter your CNCI or Diary/Token number.


11.Which is the best to apply for PNC Registration?

The online registration portal provide the facility to all nursing professional to apply for their PNC License at their home town instead of visiting PNC. The online service helps PNC to process the application in most rapid way as all the requirements has filled by the applicant itself.

13.What are the requirements for Local Verification?

Bank Draft in favor of Pakistan Nursing Council, Islamabad, Pakistan of PAK Rs.300/-, Payable in any branch in Islamabad. or Bank Challan issued by PNC office

Photocopy of your PNC registration Card, CNIC.


14.What are the Verification requirements for foreign?

Bank Draft in favour of Pakistan Nursing Council, Islamabad, Pakistan of PAK Rs.5000/-, Payable in any branch in Islamabad.
Letter/Application form with complete address of the council/regularity body/ origination where your verification is required/needed to be sent.
Photocopy of your PNC registration Card.

15.PNC Office Working Hours

Monday to Friday from 0800 to 1600 hours. 
Saturday and Sunday are off.


16.Where is the PNC office?

Pakistan Nursing Council building is located in Prime Minister Health Complex,  National Institute of Health, Chak Shehzad, Islamabad.


17.When PNC meetings are take place?

The PNC meetings take place twice a year, usually in May and November.


18.Who are the Council Members?

The PNC consists of Ex-Officio, Regular and Co-opted Members and Observers.


19.How is the PNC Organized?

The PNC consists the President, Vice President, Registrar and Members.
